The Unsurpassed Solution To Remedy Astigmatism
Visit the Vision Group Clinics for Cataract Surgery and other vision correction procedures.
Astigmatism is an eye ailment wherein there is an aberrant curve of the eye lens. Frequently, the means to rectify astigmatism is to wear eyeglasses. In our family with 7 members, a couple of us have astigmatism, my brother and I. My brother’s astigmatism was discovered earlier than mine. And since he already suffers from defective eyesight, implying his eyesight is not 20/20 anymore- it just made the condition worse. And because Refractive Surgery was not that commonly offered and well-known, our parents took him to an Ophthalmologist and then recommended to wear remedial glasses. He had to wear eyeglasses all the time unless he was washing his face or sleeping. A year or two had gone by and yet his eyesight did not improve and he still suffered astigmatism. And since the problem is not astigmatism alone, his eye grade adjusted over time and he had to change his glasses. Unfortunately, the upkeep is quite expensive and is frequent.
As for my case, I have a 20/20 and 20/25 vision and is positive for astigmatism too. Like my brother, I had to wear curative lenses too and because I was so not used wearing something for my eye, I often don’t wear it and more often mislay it. It was very problematic and a pain, I thought.
It was in the late months of 2008 that Lasik laser eye surgery was recommended by a family friend. He said it was only a minor operation and that the recovery from it was speedy and that he was able to see its consequence and the covalescence it has done to his sister. We were first distrustful and thought it was very invasive but then my brother was very enthusiastic to try it. He was 22 when he underwent the surgical procedure.
It was his left eye that underwent surgery at first. My brother said there was no hurting at all. He only sensed some sort of weight to his eye and of course the dryness; but there is no substantial pain, per se. The entire procedure took only 14 minutes and even after that, my brother did not grumble of any twinge or halos or blurring of vision at all. He was prescribed antibiotics and eye drops to help keep the wetness of the treated eye. My brother was directed to wear an eye shield particulary at night, avoid consuming seafood for at least two weeks and avoid things that might injure the operated eye. Only a few days after the surgical treatment, my brother’s vision got better and he doesn’t wear his eyeglasses any longer. A week after, his left eye eyesight were 20/15- almost standard.
LASIK Laser eye surgical procedure is an exceptional choice for my brother and for those who have eye troubles. It made possible the things we thought were without a solution. My brother, up till now, doesn’t have to wear glasses. It did not only treat his astigmatism but also improved his eyesight generally speaking. With any luck, at the end of this year, he will have the surgical treatment for his right eye and we are looking forward to another superb result. We highly suggest Laser Vision Correction.
