The Eminent Treatment To Cure Astigmatism
Visit the Vision Group Clinics for cataract surgery and refractive surgery.
Astigmatism is an eye illness wherein there is an uncharacteristic curvature of the eye lens. Traditionally, the approach to correct astigmatism is to wear eyeglasses. In our family with 7 members, a couple of us have astigmatism, my brother and I. My brother’s astigmatism was discovered earlier than mine. And since he already has flawed eyesight, implying his vision is not 20/20 anymore- it just made the circumstances worse. And since Laser Vision Corection was not that ordinarily offered and prominent, our parents took him to an Ophthalmologist and then recommended to wear remedial eyeglasses. He had to wear eyeglasses constantly unless he was washing his face or sleeping. A year or two had passed and yet his eyesight did not improve and he still suffered astigmatism. And since the disorder is not astigmatism alone, his eye grade changed over time and he had to change his glasses. Sadly, the maintenance is quite expensive and is incessant.
As for my case, I have a 20/20 and 20/25 vision and is stricken astigmatism too. Like my brother, I had to wear corrective eyeglasses also and because I was so not used wearing something for my eye, I often don’t wear it and more often lose it. It was very inconvenient and annoying, I thought.
It was in the later part of 2008 that Lasik laser eye surgery was suggested by a family friend. He said it was only a minor surgical procedure and that the healing from it was speedy and that he was able to see its effect and the improvement it has done to his sister. We were first suspicious and thought it was very invasive but then my brother was very eager to try it. He was 22 when he went through the surgical procedure.
It was his left eye that was subjected to surgical treatment first. My brother said there was no hurting at all. He only sensed some sort of force to his eye and naturally the dryness; but there is no major pain, per se. The whole process took only 14 minutes and even after that, my brother did not whine of any twinge or halos or blurring of vision in any way. He was advised to take antibiotics and eye drops to help maintain the wetness of the operated eye. My brother was directed to wear an eye shield especially at night, avoid chomping seafood for at least two weeks and avoid things that might injure the operated eye. Only a few days after the operation, my brother’s eyesight got better and he doesn’t wear his eyeglasses any longer. A week later, his left eye vision were 20/15- almost normal.
LASIK Laser eye operation is an outstanding alternative for my brother and for those who have eye problems. It made possible the things we thought were without a solution. My brother, to date, doesn’t need to wear glasses. It did not only cure his astigmatism but also enhanced his vision on the whole. Hopefully, at the end of this year, he will have the surgery for his right eye and we are looking forward to another excellent outcome. We highly advocate Astigmatism Surgery.

The initial application of lasers in the every day existence of the general population was the supermarket barcode scanner. It was introduced in 1974. The laserdisc player was launched in 1978. It was the first successful end-user merchandise to incorporate a laser, despite the fact the compact disc player was the first laser-equipped device to grow to be truly common in consumers’ homes since 1982, followed shortly by laser printers. When lasers were discovered in 1960, they were called “a solution looking for a problem”. Since then, they have become ever-present, finding purpose in thousands of extremely disparate purposes in a lot of aspects of modern society, including consumer electronics, information technology, science, industry, law enforcement, entertainment, military and medicine.
Laser is a piece of equipment that ejects light known as electromagnetic radiation through a process called stimulated emission. Laser light is generally spatially even, which means that the light either is emitted in a fine, low-divergence beam, or can be transformed into one with the help of optical apparatus such as lenses. Overall, even light usually implies the source produces light waves that are in step. They have the alike frequencies and identical phase. The coherence of normal laser emission is a typical feature of lasers. Most other light sources release incoherent light, which has a point that varies randomly with time and position. Ordinarily, lasers are thought of as releasing light with a narrow wavelength spectrum or monochromatic light. This is not correct of all lasers, nevertheless, some release light with a broad spectrum, while others discharge light at many distinct wavelengths concurrently.
Laser in situ keratomileusis, LASIK, renowned name in refractive eye surgery, bestows vision enhancement through the application of a laser by restructuring the cornea and adjusting its focusing power. Since 1993, LASIK has been done in the U.S. on millions of patients with the use of a wide assortment of lasers. This process can be used to tweak myopia or nearsightedness, hyperopia or farsightedness, and astigmatism or misshapen cornea. There are now more than a few different lasers that have received FDA consent for LASIK Eye Surgery. There are varied lasers for use in myopic and hyperopic patients, but most allow for correction of astigmatism.
One of the supreme enemies of our eyes is the sun. Comparable to the skin, eyes are damaged by UV rays coming from the sun, whether it is a cloudy or a clear and sunny day. Sunglasses should at all times be worn in daylight hours when you are outdoors and you want to be sure that the sunglasses you select give UV ray protection. There are lots of sunglasses sold which are just colored glass and do not really care for your eyes, they just provide shade from the brightness. Take care of your eyes, we only got a pair.

A Broad Discussion Of LASIK Eye Surgery
Visit Vision Laser Clinics for Cataract Surgery and Laser Vision Correction.
LASIK is a form of refractive surgery performed basically on the corneal (the translucent outer layer of the eyeball) portion of the eye. Long before LASIK (Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) surgery was accepted, many types of eye surgery are being discerned and tested by surgeons to cure certain eye defects and problems. The process of LASIK was discovered way back in the 1950’s by a Columbia-based Spanish Ophthalmologist. The incessant studies, research and experiment regarding this procedure has brought changes and a huge step in advance for the enhancement of knowledge and ascertainment of other methods like RK (radial keratotomy), wavefront-guided PRK and the modern intraocular lenses. This technology is also now applied in Astigmatism Surgery.
Here’s an overview of Laser Eye Surgery for better understanding: LASIK (Corneal surgery), is an irreparable eye operation that is basically carried out to correct Myopia (near sightedness), Hyperopia (far sightedness) and Astigmatism (abnormal curvature of the eye lens). It is acted by an Ophthalmologist after some tests in able to determine if the client is a candidate for the surgery. For many patients, LASIK is a good alternative to prevent the use of contact lenses and/or eyeglasses since all of them are for the purpose of correcting eye problem.
The full procedure will only take 10 to 15 minutes each eye and only needed a mild sedative and anesthesia and is categorize as an out-patient surgery. But just like any other procedure, an informed consent is entailed since, although LASIK is an OPD type operation, it is still a harsh procedure and may cause complications to the patient. Diagnostic examinations are required. Primary reason for it is of course you don’t want to have your cornea being flapped and suctioned for no reason at all and secondly, for your Ophthalmologist to know what precisely needs to be done, what are the probable complications that might occur and be prepared ahead of time.
Beforehand, several preparations and adjustments are done. The operation proper is divided into 3 main procedures. First is the makingconstruction of a flap in the corneal tissue. The second is the laser remodeling. With the use of Excimer laser, the corneal stroma will be modified depending on how much stroma will be remove based on the diagnosis. Thirdly and lastly, the repositioning of the flap. In this step, the surgeon will return the flap to its place but first the presence of debris and bubbles are checked before it is placed back. No darn are required. The “initial success” postoperative process will be laid to the patient’s sleep pattern (in order to let the natural adhesion and curing process of the eye), some anti-infectives and anti-inflammatory eye medications.
Notwithstanding the least aberration the LASIK surgery cause, there are still safety measures that needs to be done by the patient to limit or even prevent further complication. Some of these are: a lot and prolonged sleep hours, utilization of eye shield or patch to prevent the unintentional rubbing of the operated eye, avoid stooping and bending to avert the increase of eye pressure, apt and strict compliance with prescribed medication and of course follow-up check up.

Laser is an apparatus that liberates light known as electromagnetic radiation through a process called stimulated emission. Laser light is usually spatially uniform, which means that the light either is emitted in a fine, low-divergence beam, or can be transformed into one with the help of optical apparatus such as lenses. Overall, even light typically suggests the source gives off light waves that are in step. They have the alike frequencies and matching phase.
