Astigmatism is an eye defect wherein there is an anomalous warp of the eye lens. Usually, the approach to remedy astigmatism is to wear glasses. In our family with 7 members, a couple of us have astigmatism, my brother and I. My brother’s astigmatism was discovered before mine. He was prescribed antibiotics and eye drops to help maintain the wetness of the healing eye. My brother was ordered to wear an eye shield especially at night, avoid consuming seafood for at least two weeks and avoid things that might injure the operated eye. Only a few days after the surgical treatment, my brother’s eyesight improved and he doesn’t need to wear his eyeglasses anymore. A week later, his left eye vision were 20/15- almost normal.
